Remember pemdas

First simplify the expression -3(2x)+5x=-9

Next multiply -3•2x=-6x
Now the expression is -6x+5x=-9

Add the alike variables it would be the same as 6x-5x now u just have x

X=-9

Hope that helps and u should download Photomath it helps a lot

Y is directly related to x and y is 81 when x is 27 the constant of.variation is
suter [353]

Answer:

The constant of variation is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given.

y=81

x=27

And y is directly related to x

y ∝ x

Here k is constant of variation

y=kx

k=\frac{y}{x}--------------(1)

Put the y and x value in equation 1.

k=\frac{81}{27}

k=3

So, the constant of variation is 3.

On a recent trip to a computer store you purchased one software package for 24.99 and three printer cartridges the total bill wi
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

The price of a single printer cartridge is 19.69, in your given currency.

Step-by-step explanation:

First remove the tax and the software package from the total bill.

90.01 - 24.99 - 5.95 = 59.07

Since there are 3 cartridges, you divide 59.07 by 3, giving you the price of a single cartridge.

59.07 \div 3 = 19.69

If (42)^p = 41^4, what is the value of p?
babymother [125]

First you need to make both bases the same:

Lets remove the ^p and ^4

To make the base of 42 equal to 41, you would have 41^x = 41

X - ln(42) / ln(41) = 1.00648904

Now you have 41^1.00648904(p) = 41^4

Now the bases are equal so we need to set the exponents to equal:

1.00648904(p) = 4

Divide both sides by 1.00648904 to solve for P

P = 4 / 1.00648904

P = 3.97421114
