Answer:

Explanation:

Supply and demand should be thought of together. Suppose you need a hairbrush. You go to your local pharmacy and ask one of the clerks if they stock hairbrushes. They say no they don't. If the pharmacy is supposed to have hairbrushes and they don't, then the supply side does not meet the demand. That's too little supply.

So next you try the nearest grocery store and they say "Yes. For you it's $2.99."

Now you represent the demand, and the store represents supply. They have the hairbrush you want. But the store won't stock hairbrushes if in the last year, you are their first customer who wanted a hairbrush. You still provide the demand, but there is no supplier. So you go without a hairbrush.

The same thing can happen to the supply side. The store has 25 hairbrushes. You only want one. There are too many brushes on the supply side. The store, if they do that with everything, will go broke. Too much supply is just as bad as not enough.

enot [183]

Answer:

The initiative is a power reserved to the voters to propose legislation, by petition, that would enact, amend or repeal a City Charter or Code provision.

Explanation:

- The right of (legislative) initiative is the constitutionally defined power to propose a new law (bill). The right of initiative is usually attributed to parliaments, which in most countries have the right to make law proposals, alone or sharing this right with the government.

- An initiative is the first in a series of actions. Initiative can also mean a personal quality that shows a willingness to get things done and take responsibility. An initiative is the start of something, with the hope that it will continue. Government and business start initiatives all the time.

- The process is termed INITIATIVE because the electorate can initiate legislation. ... The referendum also permits the Legislature itself to refer proposed legislation to the electorate for approval or rejection. The initiative and referendum processes guarantee Washington's electorate the right to legislate.

In general, writers should not quote sentences or passages longer than 20-25 words, because Question 6 options: longer quotation
klemol [59]

Answer:

A) longer quotations require separate attention from the reader, which interferes with the original sentence

Explanation:

Quoting other authors in one's work is a major way to buttress on the subject as well as provide validation for one's work. However very long quotations become quite distracting to the reader as he tries to move his attention from the author's work while trying to relate the quotation to the original work. Comprehension could be hindered by this as the reader's attention is divided by these long quotations.
