Answer:

It is really a sad event when someone is in a situation whereby solution seems to be far off thereby leading to hallucination, and despondent behaviours.

For the men to feel the constant dripping of the rain on their head with no presence of the Sun Dome which they are searching is depressing. This is what made them to take some of the drastic actions they did inorder to end their misery. The toture they passed through over the course of their search was really bad

My dog, Stella, loves to go for walks in good weather but refuses to step outside if it is raining. What is the function of the
andre [41]

Answer:

D). Conjunction.

Explanation:

Conjunction is illustrated as the word which is employed to link two words, clauses or sentences together and describes how the two words or phrases are related to each other. It is exemplified as the part of speech that acts as a bond to unite the two clauses or sentences in co-operation to offer a more complete and coherent thought.

In the given question, the word 'but' functions as coordinating conjunction in the sentence as it joins the two independent clauses 'My dog, Stella, loves to go for walks in good weather' and 'refuses to step outside if it is raining' to offer a more accomplished thought. Thus, option D is the correct answer.

Are these similes or metaphors
Sliva [168]
Just so you know...

A simile is comparing something with something else using 'like' or 'as' (for example - I swam in the sea like a fish or my room is like a tip).

A metaphor is a word or phrase that compares something with something else (for example - his heart is metal or my room is a tip). Hope this makes sense!

1. The road was as curvy as a snake - Simile

2. My mum told me that my room is like a pigsty - Simile

3. Mike is like a scared kitten as he enters the haunted house - Simile

Hope I helped!
