Answer: C   y= -3/2x + 11

Step-by-step explanation:

   So you  have to know the parallel lines have the same slopes but different y- intercepts.   so we will use the same slopes but we will calculate the y -intercept.

in the points (4,5)  5 is the y value and 4 is the x value. and we will plot it into the formula  y=mx + b  where m  is the  slope and we already know the slope is -3/2  but we need to find the y intercept.

5 =  -3/2(4)  + b

5=  -6 + b

+6    +6

b= 11    so now we know the y intercept is 11  so the equation will be               y= -3/2x + 11

What is the answer please
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

y=(1/2)x+0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The explanation is quite simple. The standard form is y=mx+b; b is the initial point where the line crosses the y-axis and the m is the slope. From the graph, we see it crosses the y-axis at (0,0.5). The 0.5 is the b. The m is by looking at the rise/run.

A rectangular skateboard park has an area of 2 + 15 + 56. What are possible dimensions of the park?
const2013 [10]

Answer:

The possible dimensions of the park are (x + 7) and (x + 8) where x is any number

Step-by-step explanation:

If an area of a rectangle is A = ax² + bx + c, then the dimensions of the rectangle are the factors of ax² + bx + c

∵ A rectangular skateboard park has an area of x² + 15x + 56

∴ A = x² + 15x + 56

- Lets factorize the trinomial x² + 15x + 56 into two factors

∵ The last sign of it is (+)

∴ The two factors have the same middle sign

∵ The middle sign of it is (+)

∴ The two factors have (+) as a middle sign

∵ x² = x × x

∵ 56 = 7 × 8

∵ 7 × x + 8 × x = 15x ⇒ middle term

- That means the factors of x² + 15x + 56 are (x + 7) and (x + 8)

∴ The factors of x² + 15x + 56 are (x + 7) and (x + 8)

∵ A = x² + 15x + 56

∴ A = (x + 7)(x + 8)

∵ Area of the rectangle = The product of its dimensions

∴ (x + 7) and (x + 8) are the dimensions of the park

The possible dimensions of the park are (x + 7) and (x + 8) where x is any number
