Answer:

Predator-prey relationship and a herbivore-plant relationship have some of the similarities and some differences.

Similarities:

 • In both relationship, Predator-prey and a herbivore-plant, the interaction is between two species in which one organism or species fed over other organism. in predator-prey relationship, predator is the species that fed over prey and in herbivore-plant relationship, herbivores are the species that fed over plants. So, both are type of predation .
 • In both relationship, one species dependent on other for their survival or food.
 • Both relationship controls the size of recessive species such as prey and plants in the environment.

Differences:

 • herbivore-plant has mutual interaction as herbivores eat plants and also helps plants to spread their seed and when animals die it decompose to the soil which is beneficial for plant growth while this is not same with predator-prey relationship, they have symbiotic relationship.
 • In herbivore-plant relationship, the plants are unable to move in order to defend themselves except some mechanical advantages while in predator-prey relationship, prey can move themselves and fight for their survival

Hence, predator-prey relationship and a herbivore-plant relationship have some similarities and differences as well.

beks73 [17]
Oxygen-16 and Carbon-12 are stableisotopes of elements O and C respectively. Hence, they do not have half-lives. But Carbon-14 andUranium-238 are radioactive isotopes. Among them Carbon-14 has relatively short half-life as about 5730 years while Uranium-238 has a long half-life as about 4.5 billion years.

What are the differences in their hard parts, distribution, reproduction among phytoplankton of cyanobacteria, diatom, coccolith
Margarita [4]

Answer:

Explanation:

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HARD BODY PARTS.

•Cyanobacteria have calcified sheaths.

• Diatoms have hard but porous cell wall.

• Coccolithophores have hard body parts.

• Silicoflagellates skeleton is composed of opaline silica.

• Dinoflagellates do not have hard body parts

• Green algae - no hard body parts.

• Brown algae - no hard body parts.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DISTRIBUTION

• Cyanobacteria are found almost in every terrestrial habitat on planet.

• Diatoms are found in oceans, freshwater, soil and damp.

• Coccolithophores are exclusively marine.

• Silicoflagellates are found in marine environment.

• Dinoflagellates are both freshwater and marine.

• Green algae grow on objects that do not move such as substrate, rock.

• Brown algae - wide distribution from tropical to polar zones.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN REPRODUCTION.

• Cyanobacteria - asexually by binary or multiple fission, fragmentation, spore formation.

• Diatom - asexually by cell division through mitosis.

• Coccolithophores - asexually by binary fission.

• Silicoflagellates - asexually

• Dinoflagellates - asexually

• Green algae - sexually or asexually by cell division, fragmentation, spore formation.

• Brown algae - sexually and asexually.
