Answer and Explanation:

The closing entries are shown below:

1.  Service revenue $4,350

              To Income summary 4,350

(Being the closing of service revenue is recorded)

For recording this we debited the sales revenue as it has normal credit balance so to close it we debited it and credited the income summary

2. Income summary $3,180

        To Supplies Expense  $870

         To Insurance Expense $540

         To Salaries and Wages Expense $1,770

(Being the closing of all expenses is recorded)

For recording this we debited the income summary and credited all expenses as it has normal debit balance so to close it we credited it

3. Income summary $1,170                 ($4,350 - $3,180)

          To Retained earnings $1,170

(Being the net income or loss is closed)

Since the revenue is more than the expenses so it would leads to net income and for recording this we debited the income summary and credited the retained earning so that the closing of the net income is recorded

Answer:

The projects which maximize Vanguard's shareholder wealth are Project A; Project B; Project D.

Explanation:

Projects which maximize the shareholder value are projects delivering Expected Returns which are higher than its risk-adjusted weighted average cost of capital (WACC).

As a result, Project A with Expected return of 15% and risk adjusted WACC of 12%; Project B with Expected return of 12% and risk adjusted WACC of 10%; Project D with Expected return of 9% and risk adjusted WACC of 8%; are the projects that maximize the shareholder's value.

On the other hand, Project C with Expected return of 11% and risk adjusted WACC of 12% is harmful to shareholder value.

If the sides market (betting on a team against the point spread) for NFL football betting is semi-strong form efficient, what do
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

It means that sides market for NFL football betting which is semi strong form of efficient market hypothesis cannot utilize technical or fundamental analysis to earn higher gains since stocks have already adjusted with latest football information release.

Explanation:

Semi strong form of market is an aspect of Efficient Market Hypothesis which provides that security prices adjust rapidly to available public information.

It states that changes in stock prices is an outcome of release of new public information. Based on the information that is made available, investors actions are based, which ultimately leads to changes in prices.

Semi strong form follows the belief that since all public information is used while arriving at a stock's current price, investors cannot utilize technical or fundamental analysis to earn higher returns.

Bill is considering investing $450 at the end of every month in a fixed income instrument. He will receive $27,000 at the end of
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

11.61%

Explanation:

First, find the annual percentage return (APR) of this annuity. Using a financial calculator, input the following;

Recurring payment; PMT = -450

Future value ; FV = 27,000

Duration of investment ; N = 4*12 = 48 months

One -time present value; PV = 0

then compute interest rate; CPT I /Y= 0.92% (this is monthly rate)

APR = 0.92*12 = 11.035%

Effective Annual Rate (EAR) formula is as follows;

EAR = (1+\frac{APR}{m} ) ^m  -1

EAR = 1+\frac{0.11035}{12} )^12 -1

EAR = 1.1161 -1

EAR = 0.1161 or 11.61%
