Ribosomes are the organelles which perform the function to synthesize proteins in the cells. In our body, proteins are not synthesized but are digested and assimilated from the <u>stomach</u>. The food which we eat is digested in the stomach, so it is the source of proteins for the whole body. So we can say it is similar in function with the ribosomes of the cell.
