Find the slopes of each
for
ax+by=c
slope=-a/b

for y=mx+b
m=slope

the slopes of paralell lines are equal
the slopes of perpendicular lines, when multiplied together, yeild -1

so
-1x+4y=20
sloope=-(-1)/4=1/4

check each

y=-4x-3
-4 times 1/4=-1
perpendicular

y=-1/4x+6
-1/4 and 1/4
neither

-1x+4y=8
-(-1)/4=1/4
1/4=1/4
paralell

4x+1y=-1
-4/1=-4
-4 times 1/4=-1
perpendicular

<span>y=−4x−3: perpendicular
y=−14x+6: neither
−x+4y=8: paralell
4x+y=−1: perpendicular </span>

X=2

3(2)+4y=2

4y=-4
Y=-1.
Or you can plug x into the other equation.

4(2)-4y=12
8-4y=12
-4y=4
Y=-1.

18........................
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

We will use the radical property  \sqrt{a*b} =\sqrt{a} \sqrt{b}  to simplify this.

The problem is  \sqrt{169*x^5}

We can simplify this as:

\sqrt{169*x^5} \\=\sqrt{169} \sqrt{x^5}

Now we can use the property of radicals,  \sqrt[n]{x^a} =x^{\frac{a}{n}}  , to write as:

\sqrt{169} \sqrt{x^5} \\13*x^{\frac{5}{2}}

D is right answer.
