Noah says that 9x - 2x + 4x is equivalent to 3x, because the subtraction sign tells us to subtract everything that comes from af

ter 9x. Elena says that 9x - 2x + 4x is equivalent to 11x, because the subtraction only applies to 2x. Do you agree with either of them? Explain ur reasoning. i

Agree with Elena. Noah is wrong. If it is 9x-(2x+4x) then it equals to 3x.

The answer is B) linear.

Explanation:
This equation is in slope-intercept form, which is y=mx+b. It has a constant rate of change, m=3, which tells us that for every increase in x, there is a constant increase in 1. This is what makes it linear.

1/3 equivalent first 2 fractions
andreyandreev [35.5K]
Hey there!

1/3 is equivalent to 2/6
Here is why:

1 x 2 = 2
3 x 2 = 6
You can do this by cross multiplying 1/3 and 2/6
That's how you get 2/6 as an equivalent fraction.

1/3 is also equivalent to 3/9
Here is why:
3 x 1 = 3
3 x 3 =9
You can also do this by cross multiplying 1/3 and 3/9
That's how you get 3/9 as an equivalent fraction.

There are also many other fractions that are equal to 1/3, but these are the first two.

Hope this helps you.
Have a great day!
