Review questions1. what is "rhetoric" and where did the term originate?
mestny [16]

1. I believe the correct answer is the art of discourse.

Rhetoric is the art of discourse, the effective or persuasive speaking or writing, which puts an emphasis on learning exploitation of figures of speech and other compositional techniques. The founder of rhetoric is Greek philosopher Aristotle, who considered rhetoric to be a counterpart of both logic and politics. He defined rhetoric as: "the faculty of observing in any given case the available means of persuasion.”

2. I believe the correct answer is Greece.

The term rhetoric has its origins in Greek peninsula and it was derived from the Greek "rhetorike techne" meaning the "art of an orator". This phrase comes from the word rhetor (speaker, orator, teacher of rhetoric) which is related to the word rhesis (speech).

What was the significance of the English Bill of Rights? It made England a democratic republic. It gave people the right to elec
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

It gave people the right to elect members of Parliament.

Explanation:

It could not be a democratic republic because regardless of having a Bill of Rights or not, England was a monarchial government. It could not be that the king could pass laws without Parliament’s approval because the Bill of Rights did the exact opposite; it limited the King’s power. It did not allow Roman Catholics to be kings or queens because it was never explicitly stated on the Bill of Rights. It did give the people individual rights, the rights to elect members to Parliament.
