Heather is a student in a class that has been asked to conduct a hypothesis test for a population proportion. The null and alter

native hypotheses are: H0: p = 0.5 Ha: p ≠ 0.5 Heather is given a sample and calculates the test statistic. Using a level of significance of α = 0.05, she rejects the null hypothesis. Heather's friends, Alan and Bill, also use the sample to calculate a test statistic. However, they differ in the level of significance they use. Alan uses a level of significance of α = 0.1, while Bill uses α = 0.01. All three students perform their calculations correctly. For each of Heather's friends, select whether or not they reject the null hypothesis, or whether it is impossible to tell from the information given.

Answer:

Alan = reject H0

Bill = cannot say

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Heather is a student in a class that has been asked to conduct a hypothesis test for a population proportion.

H0: p = 0.5 \\Ha: p ≠ 0.5

(two tailed test at 5% significance level)

Since she rejects null hypothesis p value should have been less than 0.05

when p value <0.05, it is definitely less than 0.10

So at 1% level of significance also the null hypothesis would be rejected.

So Alan also would get the same result as to reject the H0

But about Bill since Bill uses 0.01, we cannot definitely say that p value is less than or greater than 0.01

All we know is that p is less than 0.05

Hence it is impossible to tell from the information for Bill

Find the total area for the regular pyramid T.A. =
Stolb23 [73]

Answer:

The answer to your question is At = 48 + 36\sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Area = Area of the base + Lateral area

a) Area of the base

    Area = length x height / 2

    length = 12

    height² = 12² - 6²

                 = 144 - 36

                 = 108

    height = \sqrt{108} = 6\sqrt{3}

    Area = 12 x 6\sqrt{3} / 2

              = 36\sqrt{3}

b) Lateral area

   height² = 10² - 6²

                = 100 - 36

                = 64

   height = 8

   Area = 12 x 8/2

            = 48

c) Total area

   At = 48 + 36\sqrt{3}

Given g ( x ) = 2 x + 3 , solve for x when g(x)=3.
padilas [110]

Answer:

x = 0

Step by step explanation:

g ( x ) = 2x + 3

If x = 0,

g ( 0 ) = 2 (0) + 3

or, g ( 0 ) = 3

Will bought 3 college textbooks. One cost 32$, one cost 45$, and one cost 39$. What is the average price of his book?
Damm [24]

Answer:

The average of all textbooks is $38.60.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here's why to calculate average we do sum of all numbers divided by the number of numbers, for example if we average 2 and 3, we do 2+3 divided by 2. Which happens to be 2.5. Now for this problem we divide the sum by 3.

Therefore getting our answer of $38.60.
