Answer:

The real answer is that Russia needed a port in the black sea for trade and influence. Also the old Russian empire fought the Ottomans to gain this territory. West, East,North and east Pontic steppe which are way more closer to Russia. Russia believed the Crimea and eastern Ukraine belongs to Russia. The reason for today's hatred of the Ukrainian people towards the Russians is that during Stalins soviet era, he starved many Ukrainians over 5 million died. The treatment of the Ukrainians was so bad that even when the Nazis arrived in the Ukraine during WW2, it was seen as liberation.

B. African American men were granted the right to vote.

 • Only days after the end of the American Civil War, in 1865, Frederick Douglass, elected president of the Convention of Black Americans, spoke during a meeting of the African Slavery Society, explaining why the black men required the right to vote and the need to make justice for them. Here is an excerpt of what his speech:

“…If the Negro knows enough to pay taxes to support government, he knows enough to vote; taxation and representation should go together. If he knows enough to shoulder a musket and fight for the flag for the government, he knows enough to vote…What I ask for the Negro is not benevolence, not pity, not sympathy, but simply justice.”

UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

He created the Embargo Act and he also launched the US navy at the Barbary States.

Explanation:

Since the Barbary Pirates were stealing US merchant boats, he first created the Embargo Act, which prohibited trade with other countries (at least for the time being). He then launched ships into the Mediterranean, resulting in the first Barbary War, that the US won.
