Answer:

x = 40 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

There are heaps of different ways to do this, but this is how i got the answer. I think you'll find it a lot easier if you annotate the diagram as you go; at least that's what i did :)

So to figure out x, we need to find the two other angles in the big triangle, angle ADC and DCB. Since we know that all 3 angles in ANY triangle ALWAYS add up to 180 degrees, we'll be able to solve for x if we know these 2 angles.

To find angle ADC:

- we were told what ADB is and what BDC is. if you add these two values, you'll get ADC.

- so, 20 + 40 = 60 degrees.

<u>So, now we know that ADC = 60 degrees. </u>

To find angle DCB:

- we know that triangle DCB is an isoceles (because of the tow little lines on lines BD and CD)

- this means that angles DBC and DCB are exactly the same

- now, we know that all the angles in this little isoceles add up to 180 degrees as well.

- we know that angle BDC is 20 degrees.

- If we do 180 - 20, we get 160 degrees.

- now we know that the sum of angles DBC and DCB are 160 degrees.

- since both angles are the same, we can just divide it by 2 and we get that DCB is 80 degrees.

<u>So, now we know that the second angle DCB in the big triangle is 80 degrees. </u>

To find x:

All we have to do is 180 - ADC - DCB

= 180 - 60 - 80

= 40 degrees

<u>So, x=40 degrees</u>

Sorry if that was really long and confusing. Hope it helped a little :)

WINSTONCH [101]
If the divisor is greater than the dividen then you know that the answer is going to be more than one. But if the divisor is smaller than the dividen then you know that the answer is going to be less than one like a decimal.

Hey guys. Just need help checking my equation. I have x = -0.6. thanks.

12 - 4( - 3x + 5) - 8x = 20 \\ 12 + 12x - 20 - 8x = 20 \\ 4x - 8 = 20 \\ 4x = 28 \\ x = 7

Debi walks laps around the mall for exercise during the winter months. The table represents the number of steps recorded on her
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

<em>The correct option will be:   b. One lap around the mall is equal to about 2,425 steps.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we will just find <u>the slope of the line representing Debi’s data</u>. For that, we will take any two data from the table in form of point like (x,y)

Lets take two points as  (0, 1875) and  (2, 6725)

<u>Formula for finding the slope</u> is:  m= \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}} , where (x_{1}, y_{1}) and (x_{2}, y_{2}) are two given points.

Here,  x_{1}= 0 , y_{1}= 1875 , x_{2}=2 , y_{2}=6725

So, plugging these values into the above formula, we will get......

m= \frac{6725-1875}{2-0}=\frac{4850}{2}=2425

That means, one lap around the mall is equal to about 2,425 steps.

What is the difference between scale factor and ratio
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

Two geometric figures are similar if their corresponding angles are equal and their corresponding sides are proportional. A ratio is a fraction which compares two quantities. In two similar geometric figures, the ratio of their corresponding sides is called the scale factor.
