Answer:

a) 0.66J

b) -0.66J

c) 206N/m

Explanation:

The change of gravitational potencial energy is given by:

E_g=m*g*h\\E_g=5.2*10^{-3}*9.8*13\\E_g=0.66J

Because of energy conservation the elastic potencial energy was converted completely to gravitational so:

E_e-E_g=0\\E_e=-E_g\\E_e=-0.66J

The elastic potencial energy is given by:

E_e=\frac{1}{2}k*x^2\\\\-0.66=-\frac{1}{2}K*(8*10^{-2})\\\\K=206N/m

How can gravitational energy play an important part of my life
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

Well, lets say you park your car on the top of a hill, gravitational energy prevents it from the car falling back. Or a snow pack, aka before a potential avalanche. Though gravity cannot keep it safe forever, gravitational energy keeps it from crashing asap. In this case, it gives you time to escape. Altogether, gravitational force keeps the earth in it's atmosphere.

As more and more resistors are added in parallel to a circuit, the equivalent resistance of the circuit ____________ (increases,
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

Decreases, Increases

Explanation:

Resistance is parallel can be calculated using

1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 +....

Then, as more resistor is added in parallel the equivalent resistance is reduced.

Let use a simple sample

Let all the resistor have equal resistances

Let say R = R1 = R2 = R3 =...Rn

Then, 1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 +....

1/Req = 1/R + 1/R + 1/R +.... 1/Rn

Req = R/n

Check attachment on how I got that.

This implies that, the equivalent resistance will always be less than the original resistance, since n>1

So, as n increases (I.e. as the number of resistance increases), the equivalent resistance reduces.

B. Now, to know if the current reduces or increases

Using Ohms law

V = iR

Then, I = V/R

So, let assume the voltage is constant, then, the current is inversely proportional to the resistance, so as we know that the resistance is reducing, then the current will be increasing.

So current increase as we add more resistor in parallel to a circuit

Debby and Ben took different routes to travel from Point A to Point E. Debby took the route along A, B, C, D, and E. Ben took th
svetlana [45]

Answer:

Ben's average speed was twice Debby's average speed.

Explanation:

Ben covered a total distance of 16 miles (10+4+2) and Debby covered 8 miles (3+2+2+1) which is half of what Ben covered. As they both reached the place in the same amount of time it tells us Ben was faster.
