On May 4, 1886, a labor protest rally near Chicago's Haymarket Square turned into a riot after someone threw a bomb at police. At least eight people died as a result of the violence that day. Despite a lack of evidence against them, eight radical labor activists were convicted in connection with the bombing.
The name for this idea is "Domino Effect" - this is a theory that says that if one country falls to Communism the neighboring countries would also fall to Communism, much like pieces of Dominos fall when a neighboring piece fell.
This theory was important in the Foreign politics of the US during the cold war.
Well, (the way I see it) when Southern Brewers was the only coffee supplier in the market. They could have prices as high as they'd liked, where else would people get good coffee. And so, Albert Coffee than comes along charging less than the leading supplier. And than Café Brites comes and marks their prices lower than the both of them.
Southern Brewers had to lower prices in order to keep up business. People are more apt to buy low cost idems. So if they wanted to continue being a top supplier, they needed to lower prices.
