A tank is full of water. Find the work required to pump the water out of the spout. (Use 9.8 m/s2 for g. Use 1000 kg/m3 as the d

ensity of water. Assume r = 9 m and h = 3 m.)

Answer:  tank has  spherical shape . The distance from  the centre of mass =

h+r = 12

Weight of water in tank = 9.8×π×9³×1000×4/3

 = 29.926×10⁶ N

 to empty the tank Work done  = 12 × 29.926 × 10⁶

 = 359 × 10⁶ J

= 359 MJ. hope this helps

How do you write the following linear equations in standard form ?
ANTONII [103]
Hi<span>, Victoriasoto93p63zva!

To rewrite these equations in standard form you need to understand that standard form looks something like this Ax+By=C, now obviously there will be variations like </span>Ax-By=C or -Ax+By=C, etc..., but for these expressions, they would look like this:
<span>1. -8y + 0x = 37
2. 14x </span>+ 4y<span> = -18
3. x + </span>\frac{3}{5} y = \frac{4}{5} <span>
4. 13x + 0y = -25

What is the d/dx tan^3x
Bad White [126]
\frac{d}{dx}(tan^{3}x) = \frac{d}{dx}(tanx)^{3}
= 3(tanx)^{2} \cdot sec^{2}x

\therefore \frac{d}{dx}(tan^{3}x) = 3tan^{2}x \cdot sec^{2}x

Total profit P is the difference between total revenue R and total cost C. Given the following total-revenue and total-cost fu
gavmur [86]

Answer:

The profit function is:

P(x)=-x^2+1280x-3300

The maximum value is 406, 300 occurring when x = 640.

Step-by-step explanation:

The revenue function is:

R(x)=1300x-x^2

And the cost function is:

C(x)=3300+20x

Then the total profit function will be:

P(x)=R(x)-C(x)=(1300x-x^2)-(3300+20x)=-x^2+1280x-3300

This is a quadratic function.

Therefore, the maximum value of the total profit will occur at its vertex point.

The vertex of a quadratic is given by:

\displaystyle \Big(-\frac{b}{2a}, f\Big(-\frac{b}{2a}\Big)\Big)

In this case, a = -1, b = 1280, and c = -3300.

Then the point at which the maximum profit occurs is at:

\displaystyle x=-\frac{1280}{2(-1)}=640

And the maximum profit will be:

P(640)=-(640)^2+1280(640)-3300=406300
