What is the value of x in simplest radical form?

Mathematics

Answer:

25

Step-by-step explanation:

For these types of problems you'll need the Pythagorean theorem (woohoo..). This amazing formula looks like: a^2 + b^2 = c^2. The a and b in this formula are the legs of the triangle, the straight non-diagonal lines. The c stands for the hypotenuse which is the diagonal line.

Since you have both of the legs we can go ahead and plug that into our equation: 15^2 + 20^2 = c^2.

NOTE: It doesn't matter which leg you plug into which variable! Just make sure it's not c!

With exponents, it just means to multiply the number by itself. 15^2 is the same as 15(15). So, simplifying the equation, we get: 225 + 400 = c^2.

This part is pretty straightforward. I mean, unless you don't remember addition... Adding it together, you will get 625 = c^2.

This part kinda requires a calculator if you don't know all of your square roots. Luckily, this is a perfect root and goes into 25.

And that, my friend, is your answer. Hope this helped :)

Please help find them
1 AB

2 BC
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

AB ≈ 15.7 cm, BC ≈ 18.7 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

(1)

Using the Cosine rule in Δ ABD

AB² = 12.4² + 16.5² - (2 × 12.4 × 16.5 × cos64° )

       = 153.76 + 272.25 - (409.2 cos64° )

       = 426.01 - 179.38

       = 246.63 ( take the square root of both sides )

AB = \sqrt{246.63} ≈ 15.7 cm ( to 1 dec. place )

(2)

Calculate ∠ BCD in Δ BCD

∠ BCD = 180° - (53 +  95)° ← angle sum in triangle

∠ BCD = 180° - 148° = 32°

Using the Sine rule in Δ BCD

\frac{BC}{sin53} = \frac{BD}{sin32} = \frac{12.4}{sin32} ( cross- multiply )

BC × sin32° = 12.4 × sin53° ( divide both sides by sin32° )

BC = \frac{12.4sin53}{sin32} ≈ 18.7 cm ( to 1 dec. place )

Answer me if you need a friend

Also 5x+25=35

x=
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

You are solving for the variable, x. Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS.

PEMDAS is the order of operation, and =

Parenthesis

Exponents (& Roots)

Multiplication

Division

Addition

Subtraction.

First, subtract 25 from both sides of the equation:

5x + 25 (-25) = 35 (-25)

5x = 35 - 25

5x = 10

Isolate the variable, x. Divide 5 from both sides:

(5x)/5 = (10)/5

x = 10/5

x = 2

x = 2 is your answer.

4688-3) -30X-5 CX-5)
pshichka [43]

Answer:

x = 13/3

Step-by-step explanation:

4(8x-3) - 30x = 5(x-5)

Distribute

32x - 12 - 30x  = 5x -25

Combine like terms

2x -12 = 5x-25

Subtract 2x from each side

2x-12-2x = 5x-2x -25

-12 = 3x-25

Add 25 to each side

-12+25 = 3x-25+25

13 = 3x

Divide each side by 3

13/3 = x
