Five more than the product of a number and 4 is equal to 8
Maru [420]

Answer:

4x+5=8

x=\frac{3}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ---> the number

we know that

The algebraic expression is equal to multiply the number by 4, add 5 and equal 8

so

4x+5=8

Solve for x

subtract 5 both sides

4x=8-5\\4x=3

Divide by 4 both sides

x=\frac{3}{4}

Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

5.98

Step-by-step explanation:

2.99 * 1= 2.99

2.99+2.99= 5.98

First you had to multiply 2.99 by 1 because 100% in decimal is 1.

You get 2.99 and you add it to the original price.

And that is how you get 5.98

Hey there! :D

Remember that the question said estimate.

So

47% rounds to 50%

.5 and 1/2 are equal to 50%

89 rounds to 90.

You could say that:

1/2*90

0.5*90

90/2

These will all work and will give you the same answer.

I hope this helps!
