Answer:

nth term = n^2 + 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

4 7 12 19 28

The differences  are in an arithmetic sequence so this is a quadratic sequence,

- the differences are 3, 5, 7, 9... which is an A.S.

The  common difference of the A.S. is 2 so there is n^2 in the formula for the nth term.

By inspection , we see that each term is 3 more than  the term number squared.

1^2 + 3 = 4

2^2 + 3 = 7

3^2 + 3 = 12

4^2 + 3 = 19   and so on.

Answer:

n^2+3

Step-by-step explanation:

4, 7, 12, 19, 28

The differences are 7-4=3, 12-7=5, 19-12=7, 28-19=9.

This is an arithmetic sequence since the differences are constant.

There must be n^2 in the nth term.

These are the next terms in the sequence:

4, 7, 12, 19, 28, 39, 52, 67, 84, 103, 124, 147, 172, 199, 228, 259, 292, 327, 364, 403, 444, 487, 532, 579, 628, 679, 732, 787, 844, 903, 964, 1027, 1092, 1159, 1228, 1299, 1372, 1447..

n^2 +c=4

1^2+c=4

c=4-1

c=3

Therefore, the nth term is n^2+3.

Part 1.] Does the graph have even symmetry, odd symmetry, or neither?
QveST [7]
Part 1
The graph has even symmetry.  You can see that because it is symmetric with respect to the y-axis.
Functions that have even symmetry have the following property:
f(x)=f(-x)
Part 2
To answer this we can simply check if the property we mentioned earlier holds for this function.
sin(\frac{\pi}{2})\ne sin(-\frac{\pi}{2})
We can see that sine does not have even symmetry.
In fact, sine function has the following property:
sin(x)=-sin(x)
This is called odd symetry.
Part 3
Take a look at the function that you attached in the picture. We know that function has even symmetry.
Reflection over x-axis and <span>180° rotation around the origin would give us -f(x). We would not end up with the same function, so these two are out.
</span><span>90° rotation around the origin would mean we swapped x <span>and y</span> so that one is out too. R</span><span>eflection over the line y=x is a property of functions that have an odd symmetry.
We are left with reflection around y-axis and, as mentioned before, this is the property of evenly symmetric functions.</span>

-1/2u + 3/5= 1/6. What is u?
cestrela7 [59]
So to start off on answering we are going to s<span>ubtract 3/5 from both of the sides:
</span><span><span><span><span><span>−1/</span>2</span>u</span>+<span>3/5</span></span>−3/5</span>=<span><span>1/6</span>−<span>3/<span>5
</span></span></span><span><span><span>−1/</span>2</span>u</span>=<span><span>−13/</span><span>30
Okay, so now we are going to mu</span></span><span>ltiply both sides by 2/(-1):
</span><span><span>(<span>2/<span>−1</span></span>)</span>*<span>(<span><span><span>−1/</span>2</span>u</span>)</span></span>=<span><span>(<span>2/<span>−1</span></span>)</span>*<span>(<span><span>−13/</span>30</span><span>)
</span></span></span>The final answer shall be:
u=<span>13/<span>15
I hope this helps! </span></span>

How do you write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line with a slope 5 and y-intercept -5
noname [10]

Answer:

y=5x-5.

Step-by-step explanation:

slope-intercept form of a line is y = mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept. Simply plug in the numbers you get.

Thus, we get y = 5x-5.

Write an equation of the line that is perpendicular to y=3x-6 through (9,-1). Show steps and final answer
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

y=-1/3x+2

Step-by-step explanation:

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-(-1)=-1/3(x-9)

y+1=-1/3(x-9)

y=-1/3x+9/3-1

y=-1/3x+3-1

y=-1/3x+2
