It is a serious threat to Americans
For freedmen in the south, the aspect of the reconstruction
work that was a crucial priority was to look after the black women and protect
them from abuse. <span>One of the earliest
steps taken by black families was to withdraw women from laboring on the
fields; they also worked hard to protect their woman from sexual violence.</span>
Westward expansion was a natural progression for the nation because the most powerful entities came from the East (England). It is only natural that they spread out and conquer/capture/kill/annihilate those in their way (the true Americans/Native Americans). In doing so they conquered a whole land and taught them their ways while spreading West.
