What was the metaphor for the garden party in sophie's world?
sladkih [1.3K]

The metaphor for the garden party in Sophie's world examples are:

"But it all seemed blurred, unreal, like a picture in the newspaper...." ...

"Little rags and shreds of smoke, so unlike the great silvery plumes that uncurled from the Sheridans' chimneys...." ...

"In the garden patches there was nothing but cabbage stalks, sick hens and tomato cans...."

After reading another chapter of Sophie's World, Hilde sits in bed. She can still picture her father reading her The Adventures of Nils aloud.

Hilde also recalls purchasing an astrology book the previous year. Her father lectured her on the folly of spiritualism and astrology.

There are only a few pages left, so Hilde continues reading. Sophie and her mother get ready for the garden party in the novel.

Sophie is questioned by Mom about the book Sophie's World by Albert Knag, which she recently purchased.

According to Sophie, Alberto gave her the book. Mom claims to have read the book's opening page, which is about a girl named Sophie Amundsen.

Life in Sumerian Times in Mesopotamia
Nitella [24]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not include the ideas of the lesson learned in class. So we do not know the specifics of your lesson and the event describes in the article because you did not attach it.

However, we can help you by commenting on the following general terms.

Life in Sumerian Times.

Sumeria was the first civilization on planet Earth.

Historians consider that  Sumeria-Mesopotamia was established approximately 6,000 BCE, which means that they settle in the middle of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers 8,000 years ago. That region is modern-day Iraq in the Middle East.

Sumerians developed great agriculture techniques, so the daily life of Sumerians was decided to work in the farm fields growing crops in the fertile soil of the region and controlling the permanent flooding of the rivers.

Sumerians were very religious people that founded important city-states such as Uruk, Lagash, Ur, Kish, Nippur, or Eridu. They worshiped their gods who were very vulnerable deities. Sometimes they supported humans, but other times, according to Sumerian clay tablets written in the cuneiform language, the gods punished humans.

That is why Sumerians built impressive large buildings called Ziguratts to honor and worship their gods.
