Answer:

<h3>            f(x) = - 3(x + 8)² + 2</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = a(x - h)² + k   - the vertex form of the quadratic function with vertex    (h, k)

the<u> axis of symmetry</u> at<u> x = -8</u> means h = -8

the <u>maximum height of 2</u> means  k = 2

So:

f(x) = a(x - (-8))² + 2

f(x) = a(x + 8)² + 2   - the vertex form of the quadratic function with vertex   (-8, 2)

The parabola passing through the point (-7, -1) means that if x = -7 then        f(x) = -1

so:

    -1 = a(-7 + 8)² + 2

 -1 -2 = a(1)² + 2 -2

      -3 = a

Threfore:

The vertex form of the parabola which has an axis of symmetry at x = -8, a maximum height of 2, and passes through the point (-7, -1) is:

                                 <u>f(x) = -3(x + 8)² + 2</u>

HELP ASAP PLEAse!!! HOW DO YOU FIND THE LATERAL AREA OF THE TRIANGLE, (ALREADY GOT SURFACE AREA CORRECT), PLEASE ROUND IT TO THE
Zarrin [17]
172.9

You find it by multiplying each side of the triangle by the height (9) and adding the results together.

A(lateral) = 8 * 9.1 + 3 * 9.1 + 8 * 9.1
= 72.8 + 27.3 + 72.8
= 172.9

GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1. is 0.125x – 3.375

2.  0.6x – 5

3. 0.89x-5

Just use a slope calculator and desmos to see if your answer is right. Also a rounding calculator if the answer for one is too long, example: the third one said 0.88888888888889 for the first number so i rounded that to 0.89 to make sure it doesnt look like a computer did it

Find the length of<br> __<br> JK<br> Round answer to nearest tenth.
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We would apply the law of Cosines which is expressed as

a² = b² + c² - 2abCosA

Where a,b and c are the length of each side of the triangle and A is the angle corresponding to a. Likening the expression to the given triangle, it becomes

JK² = JL² + KL² - 2(JL × KL)Cos10

JK² = 61² + 53² - 2(61 × 53)Cos10

JK² = 3721 + 2809 - 6466Cos10

JK² = 6530 - 6367.767

JK² = 162.233

Taking square root of both sides of the equation, it becomes

JK = √162.233

JK = 12.73 to the nearest tenth
