Answer: See attachment and explanation

Explanation:

1. Ortiz purchased a 20% interest for $20,000.

Total capital after the admission of the partner will be:

= ($96000 - $4000) + ($40000 - $4000) + $20000

= $92000 + $36000 + $20000

= $148000

The share of new partner in the capital structure will be:

= Total capital × Interest of new partner

= $148000 × 20%

= $29600

There'll be a deficiency in the profit which the existing partner contributes to and this will be:

= $29600 - $20000

= $9600

Then each partner shares =$9600/2 = $4800

2. Ortiz purchased a 30% interest for $60,000.

Total capital after the admission of the partner will be:

= ($96000 - $4000) + ($40000 - $4000) + $60000

= $92000 + $36000 + $60000

= $188000

The share of new partner in the capital structure will be:

= Total capital × Interest of new partner

= $188000 × 30%

= $56400

Since the share is less than the amount of $60000 bought in, the existing partner will be compensated in the amount of ($60000 - $56400) = $3600. Therefore each partner gets $3600/2 = $1800

mezya [45]

Answer:

E) incomplete market and product protocol.

Explanation:

Kimberly-Clark's Avert Virucidal failed in test marketing, because the researchers in charge of product development  failed to clearly define how it would satisfy consumers' wants and needs. The idea itself wasn't bad, but the concept testing was poorly done. During concept testing, the marketing researchers must determine if the consumers understand the product's idea or not, and obviously that didn't happen. The product does satisfy consumers' needs and if the marketing process was properly done, they would have probably accepted the product.

LPM’s weighted average cost of capital (WACC) is 13 percent if the firm does not have to issue new common equity; if new common
erica [24]

Answer:

Projects D and E should be purchased.

Explanation:

since the firm's capital structure is 60% debt and 40% equity, it can pursue up to 2 projects. Only projects D, E and F have an internal rate of return higher than the company's WACC, so project G is discarded immediately.

Since projects D and E have a higher IRR, they should be selected.

  • project D: $70,000, IRR = 18%, debt = $42,000, equity = $28,000
  • project E: $85,000, IRR = 15%, debt = $51,000, equity = $34,000
  • total equity invested = $62,000

IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

$210,000

Explanation:

For computing ending inventory under absorption costing, we need to first find out the units of ending inventory, and then do the proportion to each cost.

The units of ending inventory = Units produced - units sold

                                                 = 7,200 units - 5,200 units

                                                 = 2,000 units

Now,

The material cost = Material cost × (ending inventory units ÷ units produced)

                            = $144,000 × (2,000 ÷ 7,200)

                            = $40,000

The Variable conversion cost = Variable conversion cost × (ending inventory units ÷ units produced)

                                                 = $72,000 × (2,000 ÷ 7,200)

                                                 = $20,000

The Fixed manufacturing cost = Fixed manufacturing cost × (ending inventory units ÷ units produced)

                                                 = $540,000 × (2,000 ÷ 7,200)

                                                 = $150,000

So, the ending inventory equals to

= Material cost + Variable conversion cost + Fixed manufacturing cost

= $40,000 + $20,000 + $150,000

= $210,000
