Answer: 96 cubic centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

For a cubic prism with length L, width W and height H, the volume is:

V = L*W*H

For this case, we know that the measures of the prism are:

2cm, 8cm, and 6cm, then we can take:

Length = 2cm

Width = 8cm

Height = 6cm

Then the volume of this prism will be:

V = 2cm*8cm*6cm = 96 cm^3

Then the correct option is 96 cubic centimeters

Hey! I was wondering if someone could explain to me how solving two-step inequalities works. Thanks!
lina2011 [118]

Here is the inequality:

-2x+6

You're looking for x. To find it, you have to remove everything on the same side of the variable. The only thing with it is positive 6. To remove it, you have to do the opposite of it, which is -6, which is also the same as subtracting 6. Subtract 6 from both sides:

-2x+6-6

Now you have -2x. When you have a negative variable, the inequality sign changes. Change the sign:

-2x14

You're looking for x alone. To leave x alone, you have divide both sides by -2 since the variable is -2x. Divide both sides by -2:

-2x \div -2 > 14 \div -2 \\\\x>-7

When dividing a negative number number by a positive or vice versa, the result is ALWAYS negative. That's why in your answer, it's -7.

Your answer is x > -7

Describe a situation that models a linear pattern and then describe a situation that models a nonlinear pattern.
Nezavi [6.7K]
A linear pattern is when the points form a straight line. For example the following points follow a linear pattern: (0, 0), (1, 2), (2,4), (3,6). These points are all increasing by the same amount. X is increasing by 1 while Y increases by 2.
A non-linear pattern can pretty much be anything that doesn't follow an exact rule. Like: (0,1) (4,3), (6, 12), (7,9). These points would not form a straight line, it would just be a bunch of random points everywhere.

I hope that helps!
