30 POINTS!!!!
gladu [14]
Sloope intercept form is
y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept =where the line passes through the y axis

we are given
line M has slope of 1 and passes through y axis at -2 (y intercept=-2)
equaton is therefor y=1x-2 or y=x-2

line N has slope of 1 and passes through y axis at -2 (y intercept=-2)
equaton is therefor y=1x-2 or y=x-2

compare

line M: y=x-2
line N: y=x-2

they are the same line and lines extend infinitely so therefor there are infinite number of solutions

Write the equation of the line that passes<br> through the points (3, 1) and (9,-3)
german

Answer:

y = -2/3x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope = y2-y1/x2-x1

(3,1) = (x1,y1)

(9,-3) = (x2,y2)

Slope = (-3-1)/(9-3)

          = -4/6

          = -2/3

y-intercept form: y=mx+b  [m=slope, b=y-intercept]

plugging (3,1) into this  1 = -2/3×3 +b

                                      1 = -2 +b

                                      b = 3
