GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

a. $180,850

b. $390,269

c. $74,837

Explanation:

a. The computation of the manufacturing overhead is shown below:

= Factory utilities + Depreciation on factory equipment + Property taxes on factory building + Indirect factory labor + Indirect materials + Factory repairs+ Factory manager salary

= $16,120 + $13,703 + $2,894 + $52,814 + $83,926 + $3,044 + $8,349

= $180,850

b. The computation of the product cost is shown below:

= Direct materials used + Direct labor + manufacturing overhead

= $139,734 + $69,685 + $180,850

= $390,269

c. The computation of the period cost is shown below:

= Sales salaries + Depreciation on delivery trucks + Repairs to office equipment + Advertising + Office supplies used

= $49,631 + $4,044 + $2,185 + $15,670 + $3,307

= $74,837

Mary O. Andrettey wants to purchase an expensive sports car. She needs to borrow money to purchase the car, and has loan proposa
irina [24]

Answer: Proposal C

Explanation:

The way to solve this is to calculate the Present Values of all these payments. The smallest present value is the best.

Proposal A.

Periodic payment of $2,000 makes this an annuity.

Present value of Annuity = Annuity * ( 1 - ( 1 + r ) ^ -n)/r

= 2,000 * (1 - (1 + 0.5%)⁻⁶⁰) / 0.5%

= $103,451.12

Proposal B

Present value = Down payment + present value of annuity

= 10,000 + [2,200 * ( 1 - ( 1 + 0.5%)⁻⁴⁸) / 0.5%]

= 10,000 + 93,676.70

= $103,676.70

Proposal C

Present value = Present value of annuity + Present value of future payment

= [500 * (1 - (1 + 0.5%)⁻³⁶) / 0.5%] + [116,000 / (1 + 0.5%)⁶⁰]

= 16,435.51 + 85,999.17

= $‭102,434.68‬

Proposal C has the lowest present value and so is best.

A firm has a current price of $40 a share, an expected growth rate of 11 percent and expected dividend per share (D1) of $2. Giv
Xelga [282]

Answer:

d. 16% - buy

Explanation:

R = (D1 / P0) + g

Where, R=Expected Return, P0 = Current Market Price = $40, D1=Expected Dividend=$, g = Expected Growth Rate = 11% = 0.11

Expected Return = R = ($2/$40) + 11%

R = 0.05 + 0.11

R = 0.16

R = 16%

Expected Return is higher than the required return of 12%. Hence, it should be bought (it is expected to give higher return than required)

Suppose an economy is modeled with a production possibilities frontier or curve (PPF) for butter (vertical axis) vs. guns (horiz
Nonamiya [84]

Answer: B - a general improvement in technology affecting production of all goods

Explanation: The Production Possibility Frontier is a curve that shows the two combination of goods an economy can produce when all its factors of production are efficiently used.

Technological progress shifts the curve outward, away from the origin as more output would be produced using the same combination of factor inputs.

Shifting of resources from butter to gun would lead to movements along the curve as more gun would be produced and less butter.

Pacifism becoming less popular which increases gun production, would cause movement along the curve.

Increase in consumer desire for butter increase the amount of butter produced . This would generate a movement along the curve
