What symptoms of bulimia nervosa can you identify in the case below? Glen is 35 years old and a little overweight. He is getting
married in a few weeks and wants to lose a few pounds before the ceremony. He is extremely conscious of his weight. He has given up alcohol and stopped smoking, and he is now trying to cut down on fatty foods and sweets. He is finding it difficult to change his eating habits. His friend recently found him throwing up frequently after meals. Glen's teeth are discolored, and his cheeks are swollen. Clearly, Glen is suffering from an eating disorder.
Bulimia is an eating disorder in which someone forces vomiting in order to lose weight.
Therefore, I believe the answer would be throwing up after meals, as well as his teeth being discolored and his cheeks being swollen as a result of his bulimia.
Swollen cheeks- result of the acid in his vomit irritating the inside of his cheeks
discolored teeth- acid weakens the teeth from all the vomit
Self conscious about being slightly overweight and feels as though he is extremely overweight
I hope this helped you with your question... feel free to ask me questions about bulimia or anorexia if you ever need to as I have experienced both in my life
I had anorexia and my sister and my mother had bulimia
A person with a speech-related disorder can know what to say, they just have trouble saying it. It has nothing to do with their knowledge, so they wouldn't be less intelligent just because of their disorder.
