Answer:

Let the entire purchase amount be the number of bags he bought, B, times the price per bag

So B*8 = the entire purchase price

From this ...he subtracts 10 and pays 30

So we have this

B*8 - 10 = 30 add 10 to both sides

B*8 = 40 divide both sides by 8

B = 5 bags

The area of a playground is 336 yd2. The width of the playground is 5 yd longer than its length. Find the length and width of th
kondaur [170]
L=16
W=21

Set up a systems of equations:
x=length
y=width

xy=336
x+5=y

Use substitution to solve:
x(x+5)=336
x^2+5x=336

Solve using factoring:
x^2+5x-336=0
(x-16)(x+21)=0
x=16 and x= -21
Since length can't be negative, l=16

To find width, plug length into the first equation:
(16)y=336
y=21

So...
L=16

The expected value of a random variable is the
alekssr [168]

Answer:

The expected value of random variable X is often written as E(X) or µ or µX.

Step-by-step explanation:The expected value is the 'long-run mean' in the sense that, if as more and more values of the random variable were collected (by sampling or by repeated trials of a probability activity), the sample mean becomes closer to the expected value.

Carolyn says that point A and point B represent opposite integers. a. What is the opposite of the integer represent by point A?
zysi [14]

we are given

point-A= -7

point-B=8

(a)

opposite of point-A is negative of point-A value

so,

opposite of point-A is -(-7)

opposite of point-A is 7

opposite of point-B is negative of point-B value

so,

opposite of point-B is -8

opposite of point-B is -8

(b)

we can see that

opposite of point-A is 7

opposite of point-B is -8

they are not equal

so, this argument is FALSE.......Answer
