Use the drop-down menus to compare −2.25 and −3.
Kisachek [45]
-2.5>-3 because the bigger a negative number is like -15,-18, etc the smaller it’s value actually gets so -2.5 is greater because it is closer to 0 on a number line.

Simplify (x − 4)(2x2 + 3x − 5).
xeze [42]

The simplified form of given expression is 2x^3-5x^2-17x+20

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that we have to simplify the expression

<em><u>Given expression is:</u></em>

(x-4)(2x^2+3x-5)

We can simplify the expression by multiplying each term in first bracket with each term term in second bracket

\rightarrow (x-4)(2x^2+3x-5)

\rightarrow (x)(2x^2)+(x)(3x)+(x)(-5)-4(2x^2)-4(3x)-4(-5)

Simplify the above expression by multiplying the numbers in each term and adding the coefficients of like variables in each term

\rightarrow 2x^3+3x^2-5x-8x^2-12x+20

Combine the like terms

\rightarrow 2x^3+3x^2-8x^2-5x-12x+20

\rightarrow 2x^3-5x^2-17x+20

Thus the expression is simplified

Regal theater in Tikahtnu sold 548 tickets to Moana on Sunday. A adult’s ticket was $6.50 while a child’s ticket was $3.50. In t
irga5000 [103]

Regal theater sold 321 adult tickets and 227 children tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Cost of each adult ticket = $6.50

Cost of each child's ticket = $3.50

Total tickets sold = 548

Total worth of sold tickets = $2881

Let,

x represent the number of adult tickets sold

y represent the number of child tickets sold

According to given statement;

x+y=548             Eqn 1

6.50x+3.50y=2881    Eqn 2

Multiplying Eqn 1 by 6.50

6.50(x+y=548)\\6.50x+6.50y=3562\ \ \ Eqn\ 3

Subtracting Eqn 2 from Eqn 3

(6.50x+6.50y)-(6.50x-3.50y)=3562-2881\\6.50x+6.50y-6.50x-3.50y=681\\3y=681

Dividing both sides by 3

\frac{3y}{3}=\frac{681}{3}\\y=227

Putting y=227 in Eqn 1

x+227=548\\x=548-227\\x=321

Regal theater sold 321 adult tickets and 227 children tickets.

In triangle abc, we have angle bac = 60 degrees and angle abc = 45 degrees. the bisector of angle a intersects line b at point t
Helen [10]
In my estimations you have a triangle with 2 angles and an altitude or height.  You have to find the base of the triangle in order to find the area.  I set up the triangle and sine the 60 degree angle was bisected I know that the vertex angle is 30 in my right triangle.  I used the tangent ratio of 30 to find the base of that triangle and then multiplied it by 2 to get that the whole base measure is 27.71281292.  Then I multiplied it by the height I was given of 24 and divided the whole mess in half to get the area.  332.553 units squared.
