Answer: The new concentration is 20 g/L

Explanation:

According to the dilution law,

C_1V_1=C_2V_2

where,

C_1 = concentration of stock solution = 40 g/L

V_1 = volume of stock solution = 20 ml = 0.02 L

C_2 = concentration of diluted solution= ?

V_2 = volume of diluted solution= 40 ml = 0.04 L

40g/L\times 0.02L=C_2\times 0.04L

C_2=20g/L

Thus new concentration is 20 g/L

How many moles of H2 would be contained in 4.0 L of the gas at 202.6 kPa and 127°C?
kicyunya [14]
Use PV =nRT. Rearrange it to n = PV/RT.
P = 202.6 kPa
V = 4.0L
R = 8.314 kPa*L/mol*K
T = 127 °C + 273 = 400 K
Plug it in and solve. I got 0.24 moles of H2.

When placed in a freezer, liquid water turns into solid ice. Why is this considered a physical change?
RSB [31]
This is considered a physical change because the water does not change its chemical properties - it is still water. It is simply just moving its shape such as gas form, liquid form, or solid form.

The following redox reaction is conducted with [Al3+] = 0.12 M and [Mn2+] = 1.5 M.
Ronch [10]

Answer:

0.47V

Explanation:

2 Al(s) + 3 Mn2+(aq) → 2 Al3+(aq) + 3 Mn(s)

n= 6 ( six moles of electrons were transferred)

Q= [Red]/[Ox] but [Red]= 1.5M, [Ox] = 0.12 M

Q= 1.5/0.12= 12.5

From Nernst equation:

E= E°cell- 0.0592/n log Q

E°cell= 0.48 V

E= 0.48 - 0.0592/6 log (12.5)

E= 0.47V

Identify the oxidizing agent and the reducing agent for 4Li(s) + O_2 (g) to 2Li_2O(s).
Doss [256]
The reaction is:

4Li(s) + O2 (g) = 2Li+ + 2O-2(s).

The oxidizing agent is the one that is being reduced which is oxygen where the charge changed from neutral to -2 while the reducing agent is the on being oxidized which is lithium where the charge change from neutral to +1.

The half-life of thorium-227 is 18.72 days. How many days are required for three-fourths of a given amount to decay?
Pie
T½=18.72days
therefore t¾=18.72+½ of 18.72
we have 18.72+9.36=28.08days
