irga5000 [103]

Answer:

The energy that Earth receives from sunlight is balanced by an equal amount of energy radiating into space. ... When the flow of incoming solar energy is balanced by an equal flow of heat to space, Earth is in radioactive equilibrium, and global temperature is relatively stable

Explanation:

A balance between incoming and outgoing radiation produces a steady-state and stable global climate. Lack of a balance between incoming and outgoing radiation implies a net loss or net gain of radiant en- ergy to Earth's climate system.

If a species has a 2n number of 18, how many autosomes would their SOMATIC cells have?
Zanzabum

Answer:

If a species has a number of chromosomes 2n = 18, then its somatic cells have 16 autosomes.

Explanation:

Somatic cells are diploid, that is, they have the complete chromosomal charge, and it is represented as 2n. In organisms with sexual reproduction the chromosomes are divided into autosomes and sex chromosomes, which are 2.

If a species has a number 2n = 18, it means that its somatic cells have 18 chromosomes, of which 16 are autosomes and 2 are sex chromosomes. Autosomes contain the structural and functional characteristics of an individual, while the sex chromosomes determine sex.

ch. 4 After inhalation into the lungs, oxygen gas is more concentrated in the _____ and diffuses into the _____.
sertanlavr [38]

From what we know, we can confirm that after inhalation into the lungs, oxygen gas is more concentrated in the alveoli and diffuses into the blood.

Why does this happen?

The alveoli are the primary place for the interchanging of gases to take place. This means that oxygen enters the lungs and makes its way into the alveoli, where it diffuses into the bloodstream in exchange for carbon dioxide that is later expelled from the body during exhalation.

Therefore, we can confirm that after inhalation into the lungs, oxygen gas is more concentrated in the alveoli and diffuses into the blood.

How are oxygen and nutrients delivered to the cells of the body
Lubov Fominskaja [6]
Once Oxygen reaches the blood via the lungs, it is taken in by a protein known as haemoglobin (Hb) in the red blood cells. Oxygen then binds to a heme group located within a subunit of the protein (Hb). A single heme group can bind 1 oxygen molecule, there are 4 heme groups all together meaning 4 oxygen molecules forming Oxyhaemoglobin. Oxygen is then diffused into local tissue by the Haemoglobin. - this was rushed sorry if it doesnt make alot of sense hope it helps tho
