since triangle abc~ def

their sides will be proportional

AB/de=ac/df

6/15=22/x

doing crisscrossed multiplication

6x=22×15

x=22×15/6=55

again

AB/de=BC/EF

6/15=18/y

doing crisscrossed multiplication

6y=15×18

y=15×18/6=15×3=45

Answer:

x = 55

y = 45

Step-by-step explanation:

In similar triangles, the ratio between similar sides are the same. So,

AB/ED = BC/EF = AC/DF

Substitute values that they give

6/15 = 18/y = 22/x

Solve 6/15 = 18/y by cross-multiplying

6y = 15*18 = 324

Divide both sides by 6

y= 45

Solve 6/15 = 22/x by cross-multiplying.

6x = 22*15 = 330

Divide both sides by 6.

x = 55

Because there is some dispute between the answers, let's check the ratios.

6/15 = 18/45 = 22/55

0.4 = 0.4 = 0.4

True, x = 55 and y=45

There is a common ratio of 2/3 between the height of the ball at each bounce. So, the bounce heights form a geometric sequence: 27, 18, 12. Two-thirds of 12 is 8, so on the fourth bounce, the ball will reach a height of 8 feet.

How would you create a system of linear equations to solve using substitution for this problem?
tino4ka555 [31]

we have

x ----> number of hats the sold

y ----> number of scarves they sold

so

12x+15y=690 ------> equation A

y=x+10 -----> equation B

Solve the system of equations

Using substitution Method

substitute equation B in equation A

12x+15(x+10)=690

solve for x

12x+15x+150=690

27x=690-150

27x=540

x=20

Find out the value of y

y=x+10

y=20+10

y=30

therefore

The answer is

<h2>20 hats and 30 scarves</h2>

If 150 grams of a radioactive isotope are present at 2:00 PM and 10 grams remain at 6:00 PM (the same day), what is the half-lif
pogonyaev

Initial amount, A_o=150\ g .

Final amount, A =10\ g .

Time taken, t = 6:00 - 2:00 = 4 hour.

We know,

A=A_o(\dfrac{1}{2})^{\dfrac{t}{h}}\\\\10 = 150 \times \dfrac{1}{2}^{\dfrac{4}{h}}\\\\2^{\dfrac{4}{h}}=15\\\\\dfrac{4}{h}= log_215\\\\h = \dfrac{4}{log_215}\\\\h = 1.024 \ hours

Therefore, the half-life of the isotope is 1.024 hours.

Hence, this is the required solution.
