Joelyn had been thinking about apple pie all day. Her big sister said she would make one for dessert. After dinner, the deliciou

s smells of apple and cinnamon filled the air. However, Joelyn's sister, Christine, eventually came out of the kitchen carrying a pie that looked like a science project gone wrong. The crust was soggier than cereal left in milk for a week. The apples were harder than bricks. The family dog wouldn't even eat the gross pie.

Can stories have the same power as speeches when it comes to fighting for an issue? Explain your opinion. Can you think of speci
Ket [755]

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Yes, stories can be just as powerful by providing a different perspective on a scenario and showing what can happen if certain events take place or if we allow certain issues to persist. For example, in the novel "The Man in the High Castle", the novel depicts a world where the Nazi Army was allowed to take over the world. Even though it is a fictional scenario, it still shows what the world can turn into if we allow hate to grow and spread. This can be very powerful and allow individuals to understand the dangers of not fighting for a good cause or issue.

allsm [11]

Mark can <u>use quotes from any book in his review</u> because it is allowed under <u>fair use</u>

Fair use allows for the critique of art but does not allow for large chunks of a book to be copied. Fair use also applies to motion picture media, as long as significant portions of the movie is not shown (but rather short clips instead).

By comparing himself to the figure of Lazarus, Prufrock is engaging in something of a life-death narrative. In his imaginary conversation with the woman he seems to be addressing the poem to, Prufrock imagines himself saying "I am Lazarus, come from the dead"<span> where Lazarus lying dead in the tomb is like Prurock engaging in his self-made </span>universe (the poem)<span>. Lazarus returns from the land of the dead</span><span> to tell others of f his experiences just as Prufrock imagines himself coming out of his thoughts - which might be drug induced - to tell of his imaginings. </span>
