How is DNA and Protein Synthesis related?

Biology

Explanation:

DNA is divided into functional units called genes. A gene is a segment of DNA that codes for a functional product (mRNA, tRNA, or rRNA). Since the vast majority of genes are transcribed into mRNA and mRNA is subsequently translated into polypeptides or proteins, most genes code for protein synthesis.

A sperm and egg are each _________. They fuse during fertilization to produce a _________ cell. A sperm and egg are each _______
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

3. haploid; diploid

Explanation:

Sperm is male gamete or often called male reproductive cell. During the process of spermatogenesis, reductional division (meiosis) occurs in the spermatocytes and spermatids are formed which further mature to sperms. Thus as a result of meiosis, their chromosome number is reduced to half and thus they become haploid cells. During oogensis, eggs are also formed as a result of meiosis which reduces the chromosome number and so eggs are also haploid.

When during fertilization, these two haploid nucleus of these cells fuse together, they form a diploid zygote.

That's intimidating, lol!

Okay so choice A says that #8 is heterozygous for the trait which means for example it would have the genotype Aa. She's a female witht he dominant trait. This is a possibility.

Choice B says #10 is heterozygous, but if it has the recessive trait it would have to have the geotype aa which is homozygous so this one is wrong.

Choice C says #13 is homozygous dominant which means the genotype will be AA. The individual can still have the dominant trait without having the AA genotype (it can also be Aa) so this one is wrong.

Choice D says that #3 is homozygous dominant but like with choice C, the chart doesn't specify the genotypes of each so it'd be a guess to say that #3 is homozygous. This is wrong.

This means that choice A is true!
