Slaves were closely packed together normally at the bottom of the ship, unless of course they were needed to clean and do other chores for their masters. They would be whipped, beaten, and heavily abused all on these long tiring ships. Food was minimal because of how many people had to eat, and slaves got the worse end of the bargain. all in all you can see that life on a slave ship was terrible
