It helped because it eased transportation now it was possible to go to the other side of the county in shorter mount of time also farmers at the time started using it to transport their crops and make more money for example I live in Florida so here we grow lots of oranges here it would probably cost me a dollar but if I take it to another state that does not grow oranges Ill charge more
