Explanation:

Exotic species are species brought to and unfamiliar environment, just like invasive species. There is a difference between the two however. Exotic species are indeed not native to their environment, but unlike invasive species, they are not harmful to the ecosystem. In order for an exotic species to become invasive, it must out-compete native organisms for food and therefore cause harm to the ecosystem. Non-native species that do not out-compete species remain exotic and not a high risk of disrupting the ecosystem.
