Answer:

Divide the figure above into a cylinder and a dome

+) the volume of the dome is

v1 =  \frac{1}{12} \pi6 {}^{3}  = 18\pi

the surface area is

s1 = \pi3 {}^{2}  = 9\pi

+) the volume of the cylinder is

v2 = \pi.3 {}^{2} .13 = 117\pi

the surface area is

s2 = 2\pi.3.13  + 2\pi.3 {}^{2} = 96\pi

so the volume of this figure is

v = v1 + v2 = 18\pi + 117\pi = 135\pi

the surface area of this figure is

s = 9\pi + 96\pi = 105\pi

Which of the following polynomial functions is graphed below? OA. f(x) = (x - 2) ^ 2 * (x + 3) * (x - 1) O B. f(x) = (x + 2) ^ 2
laila [671]

The function of the polynomial is (b) f(x) = (x + 2) ^ 2 * (x - 3) * (x + 1)

From the graph, we have the following highlights

  • The graph crosses the x-axis at x = -1 and x = 3
  • The graph touches the x-axis at x = -2

The above highlights mean that:

  • The function has a multiplicity of 1 at x = -1 and x = 3
  • The function has a multiplicity of 2 at x = -2

So, the function of the polynomial is:

f(x) =a(x + 2)^2(x + 1)(x - 3)

Assume a = 1.

So, we have:

f(x) =1(x + 2)^2(x + 1)(x - 3)

Multiply

f(x) =(x + 2)^2(x + 1)(x - 3)

Hence, the function of the polynomial is (b) f(x) = (x + 2) ^ 2 * (x - 3) * (x + 1)

The blades of a windmill turn on an axis that is 35 feet above the ground. The blades are 10 feet long and complete two rotation
a_sh-v [17]

The correct option is (c) h = 10sin(π15t)+35.

The equations can be used to model h, the height in feet of the end of one blade, as a function of time, t, in seconds is  h = 10sin(π15t)+35.

<h3>How do windmills rotate?</h3>

The blades of a turbine, which resemble propellers and function much like an airplane wing, capture the wind's energy.

A pocket of low-pressure air develops on one side of the blade when the wind blows. The blade is subsequently drawn toward the low-pressure air pocket, which turns the rotor.

Calculation for the equation of the model height-

Let's now review each choice individually and select the best one.

The blade is horizontal at time t = 0. As a result, h = 35 at t = 0 is valid for all of the possibilities in this situation.

They accomplish two spins in a minute. The blades will so complete one rotation in 30 seconds. and they will complete a quarter rotation in 15/2 seconds. Because of this, the blade will be vertically up from time t = 0 to t = 15/2. Its height in this instance should be 35 + 10 = 45 ft. Let's now examine the available possibilities.

If we put t=15/2 in the options

Option (a) gives h = 25

Option (b) gives h = -10sin(15/2) + 35

Option (c) gives h = 45

Option (d) gives h = 10sin(15/2) + 35

Therefore, the correct equation is given in option c.

The complete question is -

The blades of a windmill turn on an axis that is 35 feet above the ground. The blades are 10 feet long and complete two rotations every minute. Which of the following equations can be used to model h, the height in feet of the end of one blade, as a function of time, t, in seconds? Assume that the blade is pointing to the right, parallel to the ground at t = 0 seconds, and that the windmill turns counterclockwise at a constant rate.

a) h = −10sin(π15t)+35

b) h = −10sin(πt)+35

c) h = 10sin(π15t)+35

d) h = 10sin(πt)+35

Suppose that a researcher wanted to measure the federal government's efforts to make the education of its citizens a priority. T
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

STRENGTHS

1) Budget is a major pointer to a government's commitment in a particular sector. Money allocated for education versus the %GDP will definitely show if education is a priority for the government or not.

WEAKNESSES

1) The major player, (the citizens) is not the determinant in this measure.

2) Without knowing the actual number or estimate of those who would be captured in this budget it may be impossible to know if education was really the priority of the government. Let's say (X) number of persons will benefit from the education budget, if X is unknown then planning would be on assumptions.

3) Budget alone is not sufficient in determining the commitment of the government in a sector. Laws, policies as well play a huge role and in this research laws,and policies are not part of the determining indices.

Linear functions can be used to find the price of a building based on its floor area below are two of these functions,
Alborosie

Answer:

Part A) see the explanation

Part B) see the explanation

Part C) see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The complete question in the attached figure

Part A) Find and compare the slopes

we have

Function 1

y=40x+15,000

This is a linear equation in slope intercept form

y=mx+b

where

y is the price of the building in thousands

x is the floor area in square foot

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

we have

m=\$40\ per\ ft^2

Function 2

we know that

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

take two points from the data in the table

(400,32,000) and (700,56,000)

<u><em>Remember that the price in the table is in thousands</em></u>

substitute

m=\frac{56,000-32,000}{700-400}

m=\$80\ per\ ft^2

The slope of the Function 2 is greater than the slope of the Function 1

The slope of the Function 2 is two times the slope of the Function 1

Part B) Find and compare the y-intercept

we know that

The y-intercept is the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero

Function 1

y=40x+15,000

For x=0

y=40(0)+15,000=\$15,000

Function 2

Find the equation in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=80\\point\ (400,32,000)

substitute

y-32,000=80(x-400)

Convert to slope intercept form

isolate the variable y

y-32,000=80x-32,000\\y=80x

For x=0

y=80(0)=0

The y-intercept of the function 1 is $15,000 and the y-intercept of the function 2 is zero (the line passes through the origin)

Part C) Describe each function as proportional or non proportion

we know that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent a proportional variation if it can be expressed in the form k=\frac{y}{x} or y=kx

In a proportional relationship the constant of proportionality k is equal to the slope m of the line and the line passes through the origin

so

Function 1

y=40x+15,000 -----> is a non proportional linear function (because the line has a y-intercept)

Function 2

y=80x ----> is a proportional linear equation (the line passes through the origin)
