Answer:

\boxed {\tt D. \ Microorganisms}

Explanation:

A biotic factor is a living thing in an ecosystem. For example: deer, rabbits, grass and trees are all biotic factors.

An abiotic factor is a nonliving thing in an ecosystem. Some examples include rocks, soil, and water.

Let's examine our answer choices.

Sunlight, nutrients, and precipitation are all nonliving, so they are abiotic factors. They can't be the correct choice.

That leaves: microorganisms. Microorganisms are very tiny organisms, like bacteria and amoebas. They are biotic factors, so the correct choice is D. microorganisms

You have bandaged a victim's lacerated elbow. Blood is still soaking through the dressing and bandage. What should you do?
morpeh [17]

Answer: The correct answer to the question is option D

APPLY ADDITIONAL DRESSINGS AND BANDAGES,KEEP APPLYING PRESSURE,LIFT ARM ABOVE THE HEART.

Explanation: To answer the question effectively, let's look at the options critically and the effects it will have on a bandaged lacerated elbow that still has blood soaking through the dressing and bandage.

A) Remove the dressing and bandage and start over again with a tighter bandage.

This is a big NO when it comes to wound dressing and care because removing the dressing and bandage will impair the blood clots that must have formed in the lacerated site, this blood clots helps to control the bleeding so when the bandage and dressing is removed, the blood clot will be distorted which will make the wound to start bleeding again.

B) Apply a tourniquet around the wrist.

Application of tourniquet is the last resort in control of bleeding,it is only employed when other measures to control the bleeding has been applied but proved abortive so application of tourniquet is not the right and appropriate measure to be taken at this time.

C) There is nothing else you can do.

This can be termed an act of negligence and its not expected of a healthcare provider, leaving the victims lacerated elbow to be soaking of blood through the dressing and bandage will cause the victim to loose much blood and this might result to shock.(hypovolemic shock)

D) APPLY ADDITIONAL DRESSINGS AND BANDAGES,KEEP APPLYING PRESSURE,LIFT ARM ABOVE THE HEART.

This is the right and most appropriate measure to be taken in the case of a laceration or wound that has blood still soaking through the wound and dressing. The goal is to apply more pressure inorder to maintain homeostasis (control the bleeding).

The arm should also be lifted above the heart to decrease the flow of blood, improve venous return and prevent obstruction of a blood vessel as a result of a blood clot. (thromboembolism).

After the measures has been ensured, the victim should be closely monitored for any skin discoloration (blueish discoloration especially of the extremities),signs indicative of shock, faster breathing or slower breathing and restlessness.

How your innate immunity protects you from the pathogens you encounter.
adell [148]

Answer:

The innate immunity in living organisms protects them from the pathogens they encounter daily.

Explanation:

Pathogens are organisms such as virus, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, worms that causes diseases to its host.

For example, Avian flu is a strain or variant of the Influenza virus which predominantly causes a disease in birds such as chickens. The virus responsible for the Avian flu can be passed from birds to humans; when anyone comes in contact with a bird that is carrying the virus i.e a sick bird with Avian flu.

Homeostasis can be defined as a process through which a living organism maintains a steady or stable physical, internal and chemical environment ideal to enhance life and proper functionality.

Also, immunization can be defined as the process of boosting an individual's immunity or immune system against antigens (immunogen) which cause diseases by the administration of vaccines.

Basically, immunization helps to improve the functions of the antibodies, B cells, T cells etc.

If a person becomes infected with a pathogen, such as a virus. The internal stimulus that mainly takes place in order for their body to maintain homeostasis is that their core temperature increases. This is because pathogens such as a virus do not thrive or survive in a hot environment; they're naturally allergic to high temperature (heat).

sdas [7]
It is the structural isomer. It is a type of isomerism in which particles with the same sub-atomic equation have distinctive holding designs and nuclear association, instead of stereoisomerism, in which sub-atomic bonds are dependable in a similar request and just spatial game plan contrasts.
