RI.4 How does the quoted newspaper excerpt in paragraph 26 contribute to the development of ideas in the article? A. It demonstr
NikAS [45]

Answer:

C. It conveys southerners’ hatred of abolitionists, demonstrating that ending slavery was a threat to the southerners’ way of life.

Explanation:

The text you are referring to is an article with several criticisms of abolitionism and those who defended it. The article stated how abolitionists were being irrational and petty about the way of life and the slave system present in southern states. The text expresses how, by an act of envy, the abolitionists wished to exterminate the southern way of life, reducing their supremacy and control and ending the good customs of the Confederate citizens. In summary, the text directly expressed the southerners 'hatred of abolitionists, demonstrating that ending slavery was a threat to the southerners' way of life.

If you toast a piece of bread then spread butter onto the warm piece of toast, what would be the physical change occurring? What
mr_godi [17]

Answer: I gotchu.

The physical change occuring would be the butter melting, because the butter is still butter, but it changed from a solid to a liquid. This is not the chemical change, because you can put melted butter in the fridge and it would be solid again. The chemical change that is occuring would be toasting the bread. This is because when you toast bread, you can't untoast it. It changed, the chemical status of the bread is now toast if that makes sense. The key thing to remember here is that a physical change can be undone whereas a chemical change cannot.
