I was walking home one day and there was a small lake with tons of trash and waste piled into a corner to the edge. I wondered why there was so much and when you look in it, there are fish stuck inside of plastic containers.  Thus obviously is very harmful and hurts our environment, also solving this by throwing away any waste you may find.
