Soraya's Soup Soraya left some soup in the refrigerator. She looked at the soup every day, but she always decided not to eat it.

After five days, she started to see mold growing on the surface of the soup. She looked up mold online and found that mold is made of fungal cells. Why didn’t Soraya see the mold growing on the soup before the fifth day? Why can she see it now? If Soraya ate the soup on the fourth day (before she saw the mold), could she have gotten sick?

How does the passage demonstrate a view that was commonly held during the 1800s? In the 1800s, women were expected to be submiss
sp2606 [1]

In order to answer this question, one must think about the time period.  This is long before women had jobs outside of the home.  They were expected to care for the home and the children, take care of the needs of their husband, and be seen, not heard.  Keeping those characteristics in mind and reading through all the answers, the only logical answer would be the first one: In the 1800s, women were expected to be submissive to men (do what they are told to do by the man), and Nora was discovering that Helmer has taken advantage of that.

Determine the main idea of lines 843-861 from beowulf by paraphrasing them
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

These are the lines that are found toward the end of the poem. Beowulf is already dead - he has defeated the dragon, but has also died in the process. Before his death, he instructed his men to build a tower in his honor, so this part of the poem talks about that. It talks about how the Geats made this monument for their late king, and how they grieved his death by telling his greatest accomplishments, like defeating Grendel and his mother. Then they hid the dragon's treasures in the tower, as per Beowulf's instructions, so that no one could ever find them.
