The corrupt bargain was a deal that presidential election in the united states be decided in favor of John Adm. It was a deal between candidate John Adam and Henry clay. Both adam and claymade deal for the election to be decided by the house of representatives rather than popular vote so it could favor adam. Andrew Jackson had won on popular and electoral votes and this angered his supporters because he lost. He called this the corrupt bargain
