32. The absolute value of a number x (|x|) will always be positive. It just means how far the number is from 0 on the number line.
Hello from MrBillDoesMath!
Answer:
x = 19, y = 36
Discussion:
x + 3 = 22 (*)
2x - y = 2 (**)
Subtract 3 from both sides of (*)
x + 3 -3 = 22 = 3 = 19 =>
x = 19
Substitute x= 19 in (**)
2(19) - y = 2 =>
38 - y = 2 => (add y to both sides)
38 -y + y = 2 + y =>
38 = 2 + y => (subtract 2 from both sides)
38 -2 = 2 -2 + y =>
36 = y

I think it's width= 3 times length
So the 1. length is 18/3=6
The 2. Width is 8*3=24
The 4. width is 12*3=36
