Answer:

d = 26 .5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : circle with two secant.

To find  : what is the value of d to the nearest tenth.

Solution : We have given a circle with two secant.

By the theorem :

If two secants are drawn to a circle from an external point of the circle then the product of one secant (length) and its external part is equal to the product of other secant and its external part.

Then  ,

22 × (22 + 40) = 26 × ( 26 + d ).

22 *  62 = 26 * ( 26+ d).

1364  = 26 ( 26 + d ) .

on dividing both side by 26

\frac{1364}{26} = ( 26 + d ) .

52.5 = 26 +d

On subtracting both side

52.5 - 26 = d

26 .5 = d.

Therefore , d = 26 .5

Charlie runs at a speed of 3 yards per second . About how many miles per hour does Charlie run?
MrMuchimi
Ok so this can get tricky, it is basically just asking for you to perform many unit conversions. I'll try to simplify it for you here while still maintaining the explanation. If you have any questions about this process feel free to message me.

3 yards = ____ miles (conversion factor is 1760 because there are 1760 yards in a mile)

3/1760 = 0.017 miles,

Now we just need to convert seconds to hours.

1 second is how many mins, then how many mins in an hour?

360 seconds in an hour.

Ok now we just need to combine these two pieces of info,
0.017/360 = 4.72222 miles per hour. Thus 4.72 is the answer.

lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

EF = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the secant- secant power theorem, that is

GF × GE = GH × GS

4(4 + 2x) = 5(5 + x) ← distribute both sides

16 + 8x = 25 + 5x ( subtract 5x from both sides )

16 + 3x = 25 ( subtract 16 from both sides )

3x = 9 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 3

Then

EF = 2x = 2 × 3 = 6

What is the nearest tenth of .8215?
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

The answer to this would be .8

Step-by-step explanation:

A tenth is only one figure, and due to the rule of "5 and above give it a shove; 4 and below let it go", this number would round to 0.8.
