What is an example of globalization and local diversity pulling people in opposite directions

Geography

Globalization is essentially the opposite of local diversity. This is because globalization makes culture much the same, and local diversity is different and unique. Hence the "pulling apart"  these two different cultures can cause on a person, or an entire society. An example of this can be demonstrated, for instance, in a remote tribe in the Amazon being exposed to globalized culture.

The rate of plate movement is only a few ________ per year so climate changes triggered by shifting plates happen on a scale of
MArishka [77]

Answer:

centimeters

Explanation:

The lithospheric plates move relative to the others at a very slow but continuous speed that is, on average, about five centimeters per year. This movement is ultimately driven by the unequal distribution of heat inside the Earth. The hot material found in the depths of the mantle moves slowly upwards and serves as a part of our planet's internal convection system. Simultaneously, colder and denser sheets of the oceanic lithosphere descend to the mantle, moving the rigid outer layer of the Earth into motion. Finally, the titanic friction between Earth's lithospheric plates generates earthquakes, creates volcanoes and deforms large masses of rock in the mountains.  But it causes climate changes to be experienced every million years.

How do we know that earth's magnetic field has undergone reversals in the past?
slega [8]
We know that the poles had changed positions in the past, because of the arrangement of the crystals in the rocks made out of metal. The crystals of the metals act like the needle of the compass when the rock is cooling off and forming, they turn into the direction of the strongest magnetic field on the Earth, which is the North Pole. So by studying the rocks that are made out of metals and see the crystals arrangement and also estimate the age of the rocks, the scientist can precisely tell how has the North Pole been moving throughout time.
