4 0

Answer:

C.  4 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

We can see that from 1/4 to 1/2 it increases by 1/4, and from 1/2 to 1 1/4 it increases by 3/4, then 5/4, so logically the next time you would add 7/4 resulting in 4 1/4

Let $m$ be the number of integers $n$, $1 \le n \le 2005$, such that the polynomial $x^{2n} + 1 + (x + 1)^{2n}$ is divisible by
Kisachek [45]

x^2+x+1=\dfrac{x^3-1}{x-1}

so we know x^2+x+1 has roots equal to the cube roots of 1, not including x=1 itself, which are

\omega=e^{2i\pi/3}\text{ and }\omega^2=e^{4i\pi/3}

Any polynomial of the form p_n(x)=x^{2n}+1+(x+1)^{2n} is divisible by x^2+x+1 if both p(\omega)=0 and p(\omega^2)=0 (this is the polynomial remainder theorem).

This means

p(\omega)=\omega^{2n}+1+(1+\omega)^{2n}=0

But since \omega is a root to x^2+x+1, it follows that

\omega^2+\omega+1=0\implies1+\omega=-\omega^2

\implies\omega^{2n}+1+(-\omega^2)^{2n}=0

\implies\omega^{4n}+\omega^{2n}+1=0

and since \omega^3=1, we have \omega^{4n}=\omega^{3n}\omega^n=\omega^n so that

\implies\omega^{2n}+\omega^n+1=0

From here, notice that if n=3k for some integer k, then

\omega^{2(3k)}+\omega^{3k}+1=1+1+1=3\neq0

\omega^{4(3k)}+\omega^{2(3k)}+1=1+1+1=3\neq0

which is to say, p(x) is divisible by x^2+x+1 for all n in the given range that are *not* multiples of 3, i.e. the integers 3k-2 and 3k-1 for k\ge1.

Since 2005 = 668*3 + 1, it follows that there are m=668 + 669 = 1337 integers n such that x^2+x+1\mid p(x).

Finally, m\equiv\boxed{337}\pmod{1000}.

In science class the students were asked to create a container to hold an egg. They would then drop the container from a window
belka [17]

Answer:

It will take 1.25 seconds to reach the ground.

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the containers pathway can be modeled by the equation given below :

h=-16t^2+25

t is time in seconds

It is required to find the time taken by the container to reach the ground. When it reached ground, its height is equal to 0 such that,

h=0\\\\-16t^2+25=0

-16t^2=25\\\\t=\sqrt{\dfrac{25}{16}} \\\\t=1.25\ s

So, it will take 1.25 seconds to reach the ground.

Can someone please give me a pathway or roadmap in order to study statistics?
Brums [2.3K]

Answer:

So to learn statistics, you need to know what is a statistic and how you should solve it

Statistic: (What to do)

1) Collection of data

2) Presentation of data

3) Analysis of data

4) Interpetation of data

The most common things in statistics are, Mean (average), Mode, (most frequent), Median, (The middle), range (the calculation of the greatest-the least to find data spread).

If you don’t have 1 step in the 4 steps listed, you would have a hard time figuring things out

So collection of data is basically gathering your information

Presentation is when you finished gathering and you have to present them, be sure to find median, mode and range. It has to be from greatest to least

The analysis Is if you got it correct, check your median or mean to see if its about the same thing, check range to see if the spread* is about even

The spread of the data can be found by solving the range, if you get a high number and its not even close to most of the numbers, then you know something is wrong or maybe there is an outlier

And finally the interpretation, you did everything, but can you read it, can you read the median or average and get a general idea? Can you read the graph?

the road map would be like

1) Introduction to mean median and mode

2) Introduction Pt2, range, outlier

3) Learnign to find the 5 common things fluently

4) Introduction to IQR (Inner quartile range)  (not used much but could be useful in special cases)

5) finding Q1 and Q3 and knowing how to plot a box and whiskers plot (basically pt 2 to IQR)

6) Leanring to plot fluently

7) Different graphs introduction (Histograms, line plot, number plot, a graph)

8) Learning to find spread (deeper range understanding)

9) All in all practice

(This is what I would think if I were to teach statistics)
