The treaty was signed between Hittite empire and Egypt in 1258 BC after the long war, which continued for over 2 centuries. After the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC, the sides sought a peace treaty because of heavy casualties on both sides. And it was ratified 16 years later that battle.
The Mali Empire collapsed in the 1460s CE following civil wars, the opening up of trade routes elsewhere, and the rise of the neighbouring Songhai Empire, but it did continue to control a small part of the western empire into the 17th century
