Answer:

Option A. a_{n}=(-7)(\frac{1}{3} )^{n-1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Recursive formula of the geometric sequence is given as a_{1}=(-7)

and a_{n}=\frac{1}{3}(a_{n-1})

From these formulas it is clear that first term of the sequence a1 = -7

and common ratio of the sequence = \frac{1}{3}

Since explicit formula of any geometric sequence is represented by

a_{n}=a_{1}(r)^{n-1}

Therefore, a_{n}=(-7)(\frac{1}{3} )^{n-1} will be the explicit formula of the given geometric sequence.

Please help me im stick on this algebra 2 question
timama [110]
Hi I’m Charles from the University of Alaska Mathematics Department. I have a degree in dentistry, chemistry, zoology, algebra, geometry and finally literature. Anyways I was very interested by your question so I took a look and saw that this indeed is a hard question. However when I look at it it doesnt look to bad but it could pose to be quite difficult. So assuming from the question I could tell that you need to define the square root untill you hit the zero degree of -2. But you could instead solve for negative externalities of the equations and then use the Calvin formula to solve this question. So ultimately the answer is A. I hope this helps!

Gillian purchased 25 books at the library book sale. each hardcover book cost $1.50, and each paperback book cost $0.50. gillian
Sindrei [870]
H + p  = 25
1.50 h + 0,50 p = 26.50
___________________
p = 25 - h
1.50 h + 0.50 ( 25 - h ) = 26.50
1,50 h + 12.50 - 0.50 h = 26.50
h = 26.50 - 12.50
h = 14
p = 25 - 14
p = 11
Gillian purchased 14 hardcover books and 11 paperback books.
