I’m having a little issue with my Trigonometry homework. The model of this problem does not have a number for the hypotenuse. Th

us, I concluded that the formula needed to answer this isn’t either the adjacent over hypotenuse or opposite over hypotenuse. However, when I try the formula for tangent, the answer (rounded to the nearest tenth) is 64.9. This isn’t an answer given in this worksheet. The possible answers on said sheet are 23.4 or 25.1. If someone could maybe help me out with this, that would be very appreciated!

Answer:

  x ≈ 23.4

Step-by-step explanation:

You are correct that the given information indicates the tangent function is appropriate.

  Tan = Opposite/Adjacent

  tan(59°) = 39/x

Multiply this equation by x/tan(59°) and you get ...

  x = 39/tan(59°)

  x ≈ 39/1.6643 ≈ 23.43

The appropriate answer choice is ...

  x = 23.4

For every 1% increase in
givi [52]

Answer:

The GDP gap is 9 % when there is 4.5 % unemployment.

Step-by-step explanation:

The statement shows a reverse relationship, where an increase in unemployment is following by decrease in potential GDP and can be translated into the following rate:

r = \frac{2\,\% \,GDP}{1\,\% unemp.}

The GDP gap at a given increase in unemployment can be estimated by the following expression:

\frac{g}{u} = r

g = r\cdot u

Where:

r - GDP gap-unemployment increase rate, dimensionless.

u - Increase in unemployment rate, measured in percentage.

g - GDP gap, measured in percentage.

If r = \frac{2\,\% \,GDP}{1\,\% unemp.} and u = 4.5\,\%\,unemp., the GDP gap is:

g = \left(\frac{2\,\%\,GDP}{1\,\%\,unemp.} \right)\cdot (4.5\,\%\,unemp.)

g = 9\,\%\,GDP

The GDP gap is 9 % when there is 4.5 % unemployment.

solniwko [45]

Answer: 2m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

The boat goes twice as fast down the river, which means it goes twice as slow up the river.

Because the river flows at 2m/s, I think the answer is 2m/s

What is the answer? please help!!
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

measure of angle 2 is 104.

measure of angle 3 is 76.

Step-by-step explanation:

To start off, we know that angle 3 and 5 are alternate exterior angles. This means they are congruent so measure of angle 3 is the same as 5 making it 76 degrees. Since angle 3 and angle 2 are a linear pair, meaning both the angles add up to 180 degrees. Since angle 3 we already know is 76, we just subtract 76 from 180 to get the measure of angle two which makes it 104 degrees.
